Hi,

Since first thinking about a narrow boat last year, a few things got in the way, (like buying a new house, and selling the old one), but we have just put a deposit on a 45ft narrowboat which is moored at Barton Turn Marina near Burton On Trent.

The broker recommended two surveyors, one of which is booked up til 28th Sept., and the other hasn't responded in 24 hours. The surveyors are Iain Jones, and Steve Hands. Steve Hands also gets good recommendations on the canal world forum.

I know this is mainly Thames, but can anyone recommend a good surveyor who would cover Burton on Trent, other than those mentioned.

I guess we would pay expenses if they had to travel further than their norm.

Many Thanks,

Richard

Not a surveyor I think, but there is a guy trading some years as The Boat Doctor in this area (I live close by) who is mobile.

He may have contacts or be useful after purchase. (If Barton lets in outside contractors).

I've not used him but he seems busy, always a good sign.

Nick
