I need a napier sea lion engine, 24ltr, 12 cylinders, lots of references to them on the web but none for sale, I know of a few but all in museums.

If not I'll have ot use something modern.

Hello mate

thats where I got the boat from in a round about kind of way.

They have a 57ltr engine but thats just way too big and belongs to Hampshire council museum service.

the trust is now closed to the public due to damage to the shed roof and they have to vacate later this year, I'm not sure of the future of the trust.

should be afloat in PTII in a couple of weeks, see you about.

Antifould this weekend and then the good ship Ballena should be back in the water on Monday. Is this a new project you are working on? if so what is it and do you have any pics?

Would you not be better off looking for a RR Merlin or Griffon, or even a Liberty? I don't think they made more than a few hundred Lions, whereas there were thousands of Merlins, Griffons, and Libertys churned out. Hell, I seem to remember reading that you can buy a shiny new Merlin if you've got deep enough pockets. Or is this in the cause of originality? Bonkers. Good luck.

cheers,
David
