Hi All, having recently reconditioned this inboard engine, it’s now time to reinstall and wire it up to electrical system on the boat. The thick positive cable from battery to starter motor, does anyone know where this is connected? Access is very bad and can’t get a visual around back of starter or alternator.

Also would anyone know where the main thick earth cable is connected on the engine as I can’t see a threaded bolt sticking out of the engine anywhere for this purpose?

The positive goes to the stud on the starter motor and the negative to any convenient bolt on the engine block, usually one of the bolts holding the gearbox onto the engine, although it may be more convenient to use one at the front such one holding the mount bracket onto the block.
