Name your fuel price

from talking with the marina operators it appears to be a myth about diesel quality / grades IMHO- the marinas seem to use much the same suppliers, who, can only get the stuff from 2 or 3 refiners. So it comes down to storage of the stuff and how fresh it is - see my post on diesel chemistry - research show that 28 days after refining the diesel has lost about 1/4 of its quality. So if it's hanging around in tanks for 3 months before you use it there is a greater chance of it not being as good as an operator who gets a delivery each week. And as for price well volume = discounts hence cheaper prices - as we have been offered.

Remember the reply from John Watson to my MBM letter a few months ago he justified PH diesel at 36p
as being "city diesel" for reduced smoke in locks etc. If it works then unless everyone filled up with it
we'll still get smoke in locks.

Come to think of it and in support of what you say. I noted that the same Tanker filled up the fuel barge at Ramsgate and topped up 3 Royal Navy Patrol Boats too.
