Laleham is between Chertsey and Penton Hook locks.
I dont think the Laleham diesel is City diesel so no reason for them to drop price that far - prob cant anyway. Remains to be seen what happens to diesel prices generally on Thames once ramifications of MMS situation become clear as they were main instigators of low price diesel and Laleham set their price to compete.

Better Boating at Caversham always used to be the best buy for deisel, his prices start at 30p and then negotiate down as to quantity

Caversham boats above the lock on the island with the bowling green, Better Boating behind the island going downstream before you get to Tesco's. Are you sure you got the right one?

ChrisP ;o)

What do you mean the sea gull in front's walking !!!

Caversham Boats & Better Boating... two different firms.
I may be getting a Tanker in here at home if anyone else is interested.

Clear on it now - only get up there a couyple of times a year and moor by the green under the bridger as you come out of the lock - Caversham boats is the one I called - on the island.

The forum is cirtainly starting to have an efect on fuel prices. It got up to 40p in plymouth. Now they have big signs by the water. COME THIS WAY FOR FUEL. ONLY 28p. Or similar. Might start working on other things soon!

Your discounted price is still waaay higher than the 24p a litre at Laleham and the 30p a litre pre-discount price of Better Boating. As a matter of interest I have it on good authority that Laleham are selling circa 7,000 litres every 3 or 4 days.

Yes Byron old mate ...agreed... BUT i believe Windsor is City Diesel (as per garage forecourts) rather than the cheaper variety and I am assured by a couiple of people I know that their engines do run much better on the City stuff. Perhaps Mike would confirm if this is the case?

Its been 24p most of the summer at Cowes fuel barge...............cheapest in Solent I think?

"Hopefully that won't be too expensive to fix?"

I hear what you say Tony but I have achieved excellent performance and no smoke from the stuff at Laleham and from Ramsgate.

I, too, have used Laleham in recent months on at least two occasions and have had no apparent problems. The point I was making is that City Diesel will inevitably be more expensive and there will be some who prefer to pay the extra - a matter of choice rather than economics.
I was, however, talking to someone last week who filled up with City from Windsor recently and he swears that his engines' performance has 'significantly improved'.
