As you have taken leave of your senses and bought a brand new boat, the name should be based on either:-

a) The amount of money you have spent that you have since realised is too much!!
i.e " Its Only Money" or " The Kids Inheritance" or "No Regrets"

or

b) Reflect SWMBO's resigned tolerance to your indulgence ie "Just Another Toy" or "Grow Up"

Whatever you call it have a great time, a boat may not be the most prudent investment but we will be be dead one day (Thats another good name "Long Time Dead"

I went looking for a second hand boat, but after speaking to dealers and finance people at the boat show a new boat is working out cheaper per mth than a 2 year old one.

You are right it is only money, and with war immanent, i might as well spend it
We don't have any kids to leave anything too, just a dog and a pussy!
I don't have any regrets at the moment, providing i can aford the fuel bill.

I like the sound of "Long Time Dead" but not sure if its quite right.

I am looking forward to this year.
lets hope the new boat is as good as my faithful old Fletcher.

Cheer Martyn..

My sentiments exactly Alistair

Interesting what you say about new vs used. I got the feeling at the boatshow that there good deals to be done if you worked at it but as I only got my new boat in early December I had to resist the temptation to explore the possibilities.

Ditto about this year - I can't wait to get to know my new boat so far all I have done is deliver it to my berth.

Roll on spring time

Cheers everybody for all the replies, Ilike some of the suggestions so far, something to think about.

I thought tradition was, the name of a boat sound be feminine or named after a female.

This trend has obviously changed with the times......
