I have a new SSR number so I need to get a new plate made. Currently it's that plastic that you machine away the top laminate revealing a different colour underneath.

Can anyone point me towards a reasonably priced supplier, or for that matter one who might be able to engrave/etch stainless or similar?

Thanks

Much easier to use stick on numbers and letters as the number has to be on a visible outside bit which is probably curved.

Sorry, should have made it clear, it's a plaque for below that I want, not stickers for the exterior.

No requirement to have it below - unlike an official Part 1 where the requirement is for it to be permanently attached to the structure and nor shown outside.

Wrong answer Tranona. This guy is obviously a plaque fetishist. He likes to relax below decks and look at his number.

There are more of us around than you may think. :)

In that case go the whole hog and have it carved on a teak board or one of those fancy cast brass plaques from Nauticalia. However, better to use stick on so that you can change your number quickly if you have been a naughty boy.

I attempted to get a replacement nameplate made and after 3 months found out that the supplier had lost the original. I finished up using dry rub letter transfer paper in the computer printer on the back of a perspex panel them painting over the top. (the lettering is underneath the perspex) It was quite a quick job and looked like it was made at the makers. Very cheap to do and plenty of material left to plaster the boat with other labels.

Not knowing where you live the question is a little difficult to answer. Would you like a supplier in Gosport or in Perth Australia?

IIRC (from previous posts) Gosport is more likely, in which case...Try Keith's Heel Bar in that little precinct thing opposite the police station on south cross street. That's where I had the plate for my part one done.
