Hi everyone,

I wonder if you could help.

I'm busy launching a website which will review chandlery and yachting equipment.

We're looking for names for the site at the moment.

Something catchy, easy to spell, that gets across the right balance of what the site is about, but at the same time is just a nice memorable name with something to do with cruising sailing.

I'd welcome any ideas or suggestions of site names from folks in these forums.

Many thanks indeed.

John

yachtybits

However many people can't spell "yacht" so how about boatbits

avoid hyphens and try to get a name you that is available as a domain.

Be careful about testing a name on people too much as some people (and Domain registration sites) have a nasty habit of registering your favoured name before you get there if you mess about too much. They're only cheap, so register a name as soon as you can.
(I'm not suggesting any of the upstanding forumites would do such a thing)

Hang on a bit and you may find a few names coming free round here, "Scuttlebutt" for example /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Thanks guys.

Please do keep 'em coming.

How do you mean about a few names coming free? I like scuttlebutt, hasn't someone trademarked that? Isn't it a columnists name round here?

Nah. Don't use hyphens. It confuses punters and is murder when you are telling people the site name. Much easier to have one that you can add "alloneword" after.
