Stbd motor not continuing to run when I released the ignition key (engine did fire up when cranked but stopped). After removing the whole bloody loom and tracking it back through the dash board which has a rats nest above the head lining in the toilet.....

It was a faulty connection on the back of a fuse connector!! Not the fuse itself - but the actual holder. Replaced it and stamped on the old one.

Out today running like a dream except...both oil pressure guages playing up. I can only guess that I have dislodged some wires in my quest. The engines must still be puming oil 'cos I came back to port (12nm) with one guage all over the place and one not working. If you have any suggestions for a fed up but basically happy mobo man, then let me know. Cheers.

Dave I know how you feel!!! I have had my alternator checked out no problem, so it's got to be a wiring problem, now everthing is new as lt's just been rewired but I guess there's a loose one somewhere!!!

Hi Julian,

Well I had the dash board open, the switch board open the engine bay open, the headlining out of the toilet and my first impressions of the wiring were.....err, nope, not allowed to say those words on this forum! Anyway I am starting to gain an understanding of the workings and wirings of my boat as a result of the numerous faults. When I look back on the work I have done or had done by engineer, I can only conclude that the boat has been distinctly lacking in TLC for the most part of its life. Bit of a bloody shambles really, but I'll get it right in the end!

Yep, just in time to sell it and get something bigger, know the feeling well, sort out the mess from builder or previous owner then swmbo mutters the dreaded words
"shouldn't (or can't) we get something bigger (newer)" just after you have spent a couple of years "putting it right" /forums/images/icons/smile.gif
