I've just de-gunged and extracted the inner and outer bearing of one stub axle from my recently purchased trailer.

It is quite old, so the dims may be imperial, but I have only a manual metric micrometer.

Inner bearing also has oil seal
OD 50.8 mm
ID 25.4 mm (that looks an inch :) )
depth 13mm

Outer bearing
OD 45.3mm
ID 19mm

There are no markings or part numbers, so I am a bit stuck for ordering replacements.

Any suggestions for a friendly and knowledgeable bearing company I can phone tomorrow please ?

EDIT

I've just found this site

http://www.hamuniverse.com/antfrac.html

with some mm to fractional conversions.

therefore
Inner bearing
OD 2 inches
ID 1 inch

Outer bearing
OD 25/32
ID 3/4

Onward !

Looks like a taper roller bearing to me

Try Timken roller bearings.

2" o/d 1" i/d 1/2" wide

other o/d looks incorrect i/d 3/4 "

Take a look at the bearings listed on http://www.trailertek.com/acatalog/Wheel_Bearings.html

Also other bearing sites such as http://www.bearingboys.co.uk/

One of the on line bearinf suppliers is a forum member IIRC maybe he will step forward.

always worth contacting the suppliers because they dont always list everything on line

I took my trailer bearings (also taper roller) to an engineering supply company (Liverpool dock road) and they had them in stock for about £10 each, as I remember about 3 years ago.

Another point, I recently needed a set of bearings for one trailer, a mate had broken a stud on another and a third had a crack in the plastic hub cap.
Buying a new hub can be cheaper in the long run.
