Well - we've all heard of mystery shoppers and mystery guests - I'm thinking of letting it be known that I'm a mystery MCA man when I go on my overnight cruise from Hull to Zeebrugge. Should get us upgraded to Club Class wouldn't you think?
Will informed falorumites inform me, will Dear Heart and I have to dress for dinner and how much does one tip stewards nowadays?

in 1904 you could have caught the SS Clarence all the way from Fleetwood to Zeebrugge

rather splendid? she goes downwind well, spinnaker flying and steam .. everything a steam kettle should have?

re MCA: i do have remnants of my red nose day kit. would this help to attract attention and then you'd reveal your true identity?

Wifey (I'll get killed) worked for North Sea Ferries, before the P&O takeover, so we did that route a bit. All changed now of course.

You do have to dress, although bona fide nudists can have a table on the poop deck.

The stewards get paid more than you so ask for donations.

I'm very disappointed to hear that you are with the steerage.

Alternatively, you may have been confused by the nomenclature. I know you got a nice new vehicle with lots of seats but "coach" class isn't what you may think....

Reminds me of a time we went skiing and everyone else in the groups seemed incredibly expert - whacking down black runs on the first morning with me and swmbo rather struggling to keep up. I suddenly realised the probelm and said er look dearest, when i said "book the lessons in advance" i didn't mean the advance class, what i meant was...
