Found this on board our Hunter Channel 323. We thought it might be to cover one of the hanging spaces, but doesn't really match any of them, and we haven't yet found anything that it looks like it would hook on to. It has been made very neatly out of headlining type material.

Over to you /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Does it clip into an under berth locker as a seperator?

then why the zip?

EDIT>> At a jaunty angle??

I prefer your soft cover for locker opening type idea.

Ah! hadn't thought of that - I don't think so, as the lockers are already well divided up, but will check.

For the others:

No internal access to the anchor locker, so not that;
Not the right shape or size for a hatch cover, and no hooks near any hatches, anyway;
Too small for the companionway;

It's not symmetrical, either: One edge is tapered from about 12" wide at the narrow end to ~14" at the wide end. The whole thing is about 14" long.

does the angle match the washboards... if so maybe the wood strips could clip in place & give you a zip door to the washboards, ie a soft washboard as waynes implied.

or perhaps a stern dodger..

Perhaps it's -
1/ a cover for the circular portlight in the aft cabin
2/ a cover for the heads window
3/ an adjustable partial cover for the skylight in the sprayhood

Da-hamn, but Lake is good! Of course: it's the optional "Beginner's Size" extension for the SaunaPants set(R) pictured above! But it's worthless without the Neoprene-and-Vibram foundation garments that one usually wears underneath!
[Actually, I thought it was the end-flap from a stak-pak or something like that, but it's hard to say from the angle of the pic]

Why not ask Prev Owner, no guarantees of course, but he may have had it made?

Bit of Fred Drift coming up;
Did you manage the delivery trip at the weekend or was the weather too poor? We need another thread to hear all about it!

Done and dusted, Sir! - Full and frank report here Very pleased with ourselves we were, too...

Unlike you to miss it, Steve /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif I didn't see your warning re: the jetty at Caernarfon before we went, but it was spot on! Thanks for the help & encouragement.

Looks like the forward part of certain makes of stackpack type sailcovers, the part that wraps around the mast.

Hi Andy I must have missed your report when posted so I really enjoyed reading it. Especially so as a few years back we visited Menai Straits and Anglesea (by car) lovely part of a lovely country. Good luck and I hope you get better weather for future sailing olewill

Hmm, that's got me thinking - there is a stack-pack type thing, but it has a blue canvas 'coat' that goes around the mast. I wonder if this goes inside it somehow??

On the other suggestions: We've tried it against all the lockers, ports and windows, and (a) it's nowhere near the right size or shape, and (b) there is nothing around to hook it on to.

Stuey_two's suggestion of a cover for the circular port in the transom has also got me thinking - It doesn't seem to be right for covering the port directly for the above reasons, but there is a sort of dead area between the transom and the end of the aft berth, and I wonder if it is to divide that off, covering the port in the process. It's something we haven't checked, it would be about the right size from memory and the zip would make sense...

Stuey_two might just have it, thanks.

Andy
