The starboard KAD32 in our BMB 30 has had a slight coolant leak since we got it ( only with 50 hours on the clock). Engineers have looked and looked with no joy. One year on we got a leak detection kit which comprises of a UV flourescant dye, UV torch and goggles, apparently specially designed for cooling systems ( others available for A/C, Diesel, Oil etc). We put the mix in the engine, and went out for 30 mins. upon our return no obvious leaks round the front or side of the engine. So lying on top of the engine, head down the back, there was a bright yellow streak from one of the bottom bolts in the Turbo - leak found, and sorted.

If your engineers are genuine Volvo guys they're not very impressive, its a common leak on 40,41,42,43,44 models. also there is a modified gasket between turbo and manifold to cure leaks here also, yours will already have it.
