Help! A friend has bought a small cruiser with a 15HP Honda 4 stroke on the back. It looks in good condition but I can't find any parts charts or details on it no matter how hard I search the web. Most sites say they don't carry info for Hondas before 2004 but I was under the impression that it is later than that. The serial number's BALJ-1502505. I'd really appreciate any assistance from any forum member.

Many thanks. Could be couldn't it. I'll search the engine again for a number but I couldn't find it anywhere on the block.
The owners manual, which you can download for free from Honda's website if you don't have a copy, will show you where to find the serial number .

ITYWF that the number you require will be on an ID plate on the transom clamp bracket but it varies according to the age

Eg for a BF15D

You will also find parts diagrams and lists and lists on Hondas website.

Thanks. Your right about the ID plate on the transom bracket but it's blank. Is it beyond them to use something indellible to mark thewse engines?!! Hopefully it's stamped on the block as with other manufacturers.
