Yes, not change this one but buy another one. A 20' creekcrawler with a loo, two burner meths stove and an outboard. Keep it somewhere else like Walton, potter about (not on the Wallet ) and don't go to sea. Share it with a few others. £1000 on ebay and a cheap mooring.

Some days she doesn't like me having one boat and now she wants me to have two. Women :confused:

Hmmm. Heard worse ideas, like moving to a house with a bigger garden :)

that's exactly what I'm thinking of doing! I'm in for share. (Walton needs a bit of consideration - bit far for me, but not out of question).

But Lisa, what a lovely area to drift around in a small boat!

We've (well, OK, Gordon has) just renovated our sailing dinghy for the Swallows and Amazons sort of exploring sails, but it's a bit smaller than Roger's suggestion.

I have only dinghy sailed for two days - off Tenby in 505 trapeze thingy. I was good weight on day one - on day two my son said that I could helm. I capsized it with the spinnaker up about a mile off the beach. Luke had to swim under the boat and release the spinny so we could right the boat - good job he wasn't wearing a bouyance aid  :D

Modest creature comforts and some built in ballast required :)

I walked the sea wall at Paglesham today - sigh - it was beautiful.

I have a 'second boat' 25% shares etc.

I have a foot in both camps regarding this.....

A racing boat for Sunday and Wednesday night fun = great.

Boat maintenance x 2 = not great!
