I was as the boatyard the other day and someone had thrown away 5 large fenders that were dirty and very sticky.
I saved them from the tip and my solution is as follows:
Rub all over them with saw dust so that sticks to the sticky (Tried cleaning them but that seemed impossible).
Now find a pair or more of old Jogging bottoms. Cut of the legs (You now have a fetching pair of shorts) and pull them over the fenders. Secure the tops by gathering the material together and fixing with small cable ties and there you have it serviceable fenders again and a pair of sleeping shorts
