My Old Tub Sails!!!

Bob

Good to see you have a grand day out. If those sails are 30 years old they are either very lightly used or your photos make them look much better than I would expect for that age. From weir Quay to the sound is great sailing but do watch out for the shallow bits at low water! See you out there sometime.

Brilliant! The Tamar is such a cracking place to sail. I'll look out for you when I'm out - I'm considering a Westerly myself - but if you ever overtake an Express Pirate... it'll be me for the rest of this season so give us a wave!

Perhaps we should all be wearing forum burgees?

Regards

From Captain Bob to another - your happy grin says it all!. I'm sure no sailor ever forgets that first voyage. The Tamar is a great place to sail and your trip reminds me of a week I spent sailing from Gunnislake (now theres a place! - but not for a Centaur!) to Devonport in a 14' West Wight Potter and had a terrific time. Best of luck for the future.
Bob.

My head sails are original - 37 years old. They do need constant attention but are not as tattered as the Black Pearls. Saying that I do have 4 head sails so you could argue that they are 10 year old equiv (but the No1 Genoa does get most use).
