After 1 & 1/2 years of hanging around here, pretending to be a real raggie, I've finally gone and done it....... unless the survey shows that 'there be monsters hiding', then its mine.....

Its a Carter 3/4 tonner, which is very closely related to the Carter 33, same basic hull shape, but very slightly beamier.... and with a more modern shaped coachroof profile...designed by Dick Carter as an IOR 3/4 tonner in 1976...... she's a cracker!

Now the real fun begins.......

Huzzah!!! Welcome in NAS, is that Ostend in the background?
Looks as if the family will fit nicely cos I spotted at least 2 cushions just on one side of the boat!!
Let us know how the trip home goes....

Jim

Jim, she's a 6 berth at the moment, with pilots and seats both sides, a nice big quarter berth and a single bunk in the forepeak.... i've plans to change that to a more standard double in the forepeak, and that'll make her a comfortable 7 berth.... and I reckon that if I fill in the triangle in the forepeak then the youngsters plus friends will be happy to sleep three up..... in fact, I suspect that three 9yr olds will relish it /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

So my original requirements, way back, for a comfortable 4 berth for the family, with room to stretch out to 4 adults and 4 kids when friends visit is pretty well met... along with seaworthiness, and a decent turn of speed.....

Look forward to bumping into you somewhere on the east coast in the not too distant future, and inviting you and the family aboard for a wee bevvy.....

I once slept 4 adults in the filled in forecabin of my Evo 25, but they were all bendy toy pished at the time! Kids? Loads of 'em. Just fit a soundproof door. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Great idea.... maybe we could all meet up on a sunny weekend somewhere like Stone point in Walton Backwaters.... nice beach according to my East coast pilot!... good anchorage.... perfect for a trip ashore and a BBQ or something....

I see you are Shotley based...... so great for you.... not so sure about Jim.... he's an Essex boy... so maybe a little further afield....

Lets get something sorted later in the season...

Excellent!!!

Just PM'd you onn this very topic - mine has just been agreed as well (about 30 mins ago!) so lets raise a (virtual) glass to some happy days and fair winds!

Have a relaxing sail back from the Hamble!
