October last year, we had a wonderful first diving cruise, with my hooligan diving friends on Blue Angel. (11 peeps all together)
A few week's ago I got a nice present from them for that,

Despite the fact that she's not chrome plated,
For me, This is the most beautiful bell in the world

(I might change my mind when we have done a few rough passages  )

The inauguration, I had to do that all alone in Rome
So I had to drink all the remaining whisky (from the Schotland trip) by myself.
Blame on them !

LOL, that must be a popular placement among Italian builders. Look where's mine!
Btw, with that you also get the idea of how yours will look like at the end of next season... :D

Is the skewed look a result of a crew member trying to steady themselves while the boat was rolling M? ;)

LOL, naah, that's the original installation.
Not many components are perfectly straight on these hand built wooden things, you know... :D

Well, to make things worse, wooden boats also change over time.
When I bought mine, even the keel was a bit leaning.
Would you believe that, against all odds, it's now more straight than it was 10 years ago...?!
Granted to cure even the worst form of OCD!
...or to make it cronical, maybe...

Do you mean hogged, sagged or a longitudinal curvature?
Not easy to explain, I would say slightly twisted.
As you can see, the aft section of the keel is a bit leaning to stbd at its bottom. Nothing major, but visible.
What's amazing is that, whilst I feared a worsening over time (the pic was taken 10 yrs ago, 'scuse the awful red a/f...), it actually didn't get worse at all.
If anything, the opposite... But don't ask me why! :)

I see what you mean, but as you say not much to worry about. Perhaps that section of timber may have been a little too 'green' when initially laid?

Possibly, who knows?
I actually thought to ask the builder at that time, but he's the kind of person who would never admit to have ever done anything less than perfect...
...probably because he knows better than anyone else that his boats actually are NOT perfect, LOL!

With apologies to Bart... [/offtopic]
