She's got KAD42P's I had to have one totally rebuilt last year or so and the other one overhauled new head gaskets, valve seats re profiled etc £15K Plus VAT!!. I change the oil every 50/60 hours to be safe and the injectors every 200hours as a duff injector was the cause of the fatality. She cruises at 3200 27/28 Kts, 3950 32/34 depending how long you want to hold them WOT.
15K wow. what hours she got ? I have had my targa 2 years now and put 550hours on , change oil at 100hrs with filters and general service.
Big problem has been the belts squeeling so have just upgraded to the new tensioners to see if that will cure it, will let you know next week when she has had a good run if that cures them.
So why did I think you were based on the Thames then???
I kive on the Thames at Shepperton, do you ever get up there, if so call in you can have a free mooring for a couple of nights.
Who me ?.Location is on the Mudway. However will be coming round to the London river in a few months time.Hoping to meet up with one or two of the locals in early summer.
2or 3 of us Medwayers may also be putting in an appearance at St Kats over bank holiday.
Usual caveats to apply of course, wind, weather, money, time, mechanical horridness
etc etc on both proposed trips.
Hey, I saw the dolphins between Street and Boulder on Sat 2nd AND Sunday 10th April- when were you there? D'you think they hang around there all the time- is it worth another visit?
PS Great picture, but there's something wrong with your boat- the mast and sails have fallen off!!! /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
Hi Nicololo, You know the answer to this yourself...... When I said "my first try with a pix also" I did not mean taking the picture but posting it!!! Rgds
Hi Phanakapan, We saw them on Saturday approx 4pm and Sunday approx 3pm. Exactly between Street and Boulder. Go 25 M up or down the Loo and they were not there. There were four boats in our group and we were there for a good ten mins each time where they would just pop up between our boats. I have never seen them there before either but then again I may not have been looking. About 2 years ago was fishing nearish to the Loo channel and saw 3 massive whales heading for the boat 2x were about the length of the boat 10 or 11M and one baby one, they turned when they were about 3 meters away from the boat and headed towards IOW. It was really unbeleivable how they came so close and just missed us. Radio'd Chi HM and they wanted me give sighting and position info to their environmental / biology / marine unit but they don't work Fridays and it was a Friday.
I was exactly between Street and Boulder too- in fact I was already happy I had found the bouys on my first solo trip, so seeing them was a huge bonus. It was about 7am. Couldn't believe it when they were there again a week later- going my way this time, and I slowed down to about 3 knots, so had them with me for about quarter of an hour. (6pm ish that time)So frustrating that I was on my own and couldn't find the camera!
How amazing about the whales- what an experience.
BTW it is a very nice boat really!
Sorry, realised as soon as I hit the 'submit' button that I'd been a bit of a dickhead! - still, live and learn. I wonder if Kim would be willing to provide a 'dickhead' icon???
