Was on television last night.

The Windermere Wardens are going to be shooting a few Canada Geese "as kindly as possible" and the Beeb chose Goose-cack meadow as the scene for the report

How do you shoot something kindly?

Lots of goose hunting in my youth. Trust me, its frustrating. You hear the pellets bounce off them as they overfly.

They then dump the content of their stomachs when overhead.

No sympathy...:D

My launch trolley was there as well.
I think they will be shooting them whilst they are leisurely leaning against a green Plastimo dinghy. They are just looking for one .

The shooters will be experienced professionals. The situation in the "Show Field" (for that is where we are discussing) is tricky with a caravan park, a road and a museum as backstops. The only viable direction is towards the lake where Patriot and Feckless, amongst others will protect wayward canoeists.
I think they may be thinking about culling them on Rough Holme and Lady Holme where they roost, possibly in Rayrigg Wyke (must stay indoors) and maybe along the Calgarth Hall shoreline up as far as White Cross Bay.

Some bonkers naturalist in Grange is moaning about the "massacre" I have tried be reasonable in my comments.
