Since this forum has gone VERY quite thought I'd add a photo of "Mandarin Wind" my unusual Junk Rig Corribee I've been working on. I've stripped out the inside and rebuilt very minimalist. Its 1980 and in fantastic nick with original gel coat on the top sides. Large windows were cut into it by a previous owner but I've fitted the window openings with 12mm marine ply and added the portholes as it should be. The junk sail is hanging in the yellow cover above it, also the mast. I can't keep it as I'm going to modify my Hurley 22 and I need the space in the shed. Going to be putting it for sale soon.

Very nice....

Very tidy boat.

I do have one question:-

I have a similar sized boat to the corribee and am thinking about converting her to a junk rig.

I have done a bit or trauling through the web, but one question I still haven't got a clear answer for, is what the dimensions of the mast should be.

I can figure out the best mast height given the prefered sail area, but I can't find any clear information on the thickness of the mast.

Would you please be able to let me know what material the Corribee's mast is made of and also its dimensions, particularly both its inner and outer thickness if the mast is hollow.

Thanks,

Gitane.

Hi Gitane,
I'm off out of the country for a while and may not get chance to go to the boat shed but I'll try. I'll measure the diameter bottom, top and wall thickness and length. Don't know the exact material but it will be an aluminium alloy.
Regards
