bedroom in pointy bit, door opens to small corredor with walls on both sides, behind the walls are the heads and showers. The walls are internal and covered with foam backed vinyl. the showers do not leak, there is not a drop of water in the bilges and I leave a dehumidifyer on all the time. When I arrived thurs the carpets in the corredor area and the bedroom were wet, the foam behind the vnyl on the walls wet too, water could not jump over the door frame into the bedroom so, is the answer condensation, never had it before,
any ideas?

I can't see how that volume of water would be condensation. Water can leak in from the most unexpected places.

Look upwards and sideways: what's above that could leak ?

Deck fittings (stanchions, cleats etc.)?
Windscreen Frames?
Hatches?

As well as looking up, look down. Is it possible that the foam could be soaking water up by capillary action? You could just have a leak, from the shower plumbing, for example.

Can you exclude rain penetration? Is your loo leaking?

Dry up, then spend some time watching for a trickle. Preferably with the carpets and suchlike removed.

I thought it might be the fridge, but I dont see how the water could jump the door frame into the bedroom as well, its not the heads leaking or the shower as it didnt happen whilst we were on board, only from the previous 2 weeks. Its not coming in the the windscreen and going down cause its not wet there, nor any sign of any damp at all

I had a similar problem - Turned out to be the dehimidifier filling right up to the top before cutting out. The boat would rock and some of the water would dribble out. The dehumidifer would then carry on it merry way and fill up again.. etc.

The end result was a continually damp carpet which when i came back to the boat after a couple of weeks had gone black. Scratch one cabin carpet! Now I stand the dehumidier in the shower.

My shower outlet goes down to a pump which has to be manually turned on to work. I'm not sure if the water will run out if the pump isn't running.
