Hi

Does anyone (jfm?) know anything about this super yacht that was mincing about in Portsmouth Harbour on Saturday.

Moored in Haslar overnight.

Looked new and was rather nice . Not massive - no helo but I thought fab looking with excellent wheelhouse.

When / where built and for whom?

Thanks

Did not get a pix as ruddy camera batt was duff........ :-(

The name Addicton isn't uncommon but if it was a 50m big white mobo then it was an Amels 171 series, the newest of which is called Addiction. This is Amels' "equivalent" to feadship's Vantage F45 stuff, where you buy a sort of fixed-design superyacht rather than custom design. Cheaper, and faster delivery. Of course, on a boat that size many things are still custom but not bulkheads and the main engineering. When you saw it, it might be on delivery or sea trials becuase it was being built at Amels in Holland last year. They have done about half a dozen of these 171's, the first was Deniki, http://www.amels-holland.com/index.php?pk=124&lang=en

Re: MY Addiction

Ah Thanks jfm - that is indeed the model.

The rear steps are the same - Addiction was white hull and wheel house glass sort of floor to deck head.

Nice boat.

Caused a commotion when crossing the small boat fairway going into Haslar . Two lots of 5 short blasts and sail boats scattering every which way.

It was on delivery from Amels in Holland, heading to Monaco.
On Sunday it was 3 days old, the crew were using the delivery trip for sea trials.
I wonder what the new owner would say if he knew that 19 young ladies from Portsmouth were kicked off on Sunday morning. Is that what is ment by sea trials?

I'm beginning to think that you're the 'Jez-anorak' of superyachts. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

This time you didn't even have a photo to work from. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
