We are looking at our first mini adventure up the East Coast to Titchmarsh/Shotley/Ipswich in a weeks time. Our plan was to leave Burnham on Sunday 17th June at HW which is 12.09 and then catch the tide northwards up to Harwich. HW at Harwich is 11.15 so slack water would be around the time we get there at 17.00 - 18.00. Am I getting this bit right with regards to start time?

Sounds about right.
When we leave for the Orwell from Bradwell we normally leave an hour after HW.

Pop into Bradwell on the way back from your trip. We're a friendly bunch!! :)

Short route from Bradwell to Burham

You can take the Ray Sand Channel on the way back in...

Especially handy if there is a chop as it cuts off a lot of the journey..

Plan to arrive at the South end about an hour or so before HW.. Departure from Bradwell depending on wind direction and your boat speed...

It is now buoyed with safe water marks .. (or was the last time I went that way)

Your timing seems about right, depending on your speed.Personally, I prefer to start a bit earlier and sail slower if necessary, rather than try to catch up if I fall behind schedule.
Windguru seems to be indicating a fresh southerly for Sunday, so that should waft you up there nicely.
If you are somewhere in Pennyhole Bay at low water the flood will help you into Harwich or Walton Backwaters.
If it is a bit fresh, bashing to windward into the Backwaters may be a bit unpleasant so perhaps save that for another occasion if conditions dictate.
Moderate tides this weekend so with your draft there shouldn't be any special hazards, but watch out for lobster pots off the Naze.

...and if going into the backwaters, it can be a bit buttock clenching across the Pye Sand into the channel, as it's a bit shallow... I have been across with 0.1 under the keel (1.5 draft), so you wouldn't want to have anything of a sea running. That was the year before last though
