Wondered how many of our forumites are musically talented and their standard. Perhaps it would be fun to have a musical evening /rally during the season, or at a get-together!

Well, I'm a professional musician - it's not for me to say how talented(!) - but, to be honest, I go sailing to get away from the job!

After a days sailing, I might relax with a favourite recording or two, but usually just the sounds of water or of the wildlife will do.

Folk music and/or badly strummed guitars are usually enough to make me up anchor.

Am I a miserable bar-steward?

I'm a singer in 2 bands (one classic rock (50s-present), one a touch easier (e.g. Beatles, Fleetwood Mac, Eagles)- neither pro. We are all firmly over 35. We've done a few shortish pub gigs. I think the lead guitarist in one has passing interest in boats (think he may have been on a DazedKipper course), dunno about the rest. If there's a move towards a gig I am sure I could drum (ha ha) up some interest...

Well I'm a piano teacher and also have a band who play pub and club gigs, and have done a couple of weddings too. We've been called 'radio one music' if that helps to describe us! Modern rock/pop stuff, bunch of youngish chaps. Planning on getting the band out on the water when my winter maintenance is done.
Of course the band and boat are currently in conflict, since I have evicted the other guys from our practise space (my garage) where my Wayfarer is now laid up!
