In 1975, when I was 21, and whilst on my "epic cruise!" to the Med and back on my 18ft Alacrity , my girl friend Anne (from Montreal) would get here old guitar out at any opportunity and pick n play. She had a voice as great as her personatilty and an endless list of funny, sad, folk, upbeat songs to meet any mood.
I met her singing in the bar at the Lulworth Cove Hotel just before setting off and she came and joined me a month or so later. We would get invites onto all the big yachts for drinks and meals, and when times were hard she would take the guitar and busk in any town we were near.
The guitar had a hole covered in tape and most likely cost less that £20 to buy.
Anne Dewey where are you now?
