Mr.T was away for 3 weeks with us taking the first week and a bit to get to Brighton via Fambridge/Ramsgate/Boulogne/Dieppe/ Eastbourne where she was left for a week. Littlehampton/Cowes/Yarmouth/Brighton/Dover/Bradwell then completed the trip. The last leg Dover/Bradwell was a lumpy and windy affair but if there are sails that remind you of why we do it, then it was that one - it was absolutely fabulous. Ostend was of course earlier in the year
A nice way to start the trip ....
The lock being drained at Boulogne ...
Clearly the effects of scurvy and seasickness ....
If you get the chance to go to the Aquarium in Boulogne, then do, it is well worth the trip ....
A clove hitch ....
A figure of eight ....
And a bowline ...... sort of .....
The English abroad ....
The cemetary at Etaples, an education and always a sobering experience ....
Part of the V2 site at La Coupole, thankfully never finished ...
Guess who won the high jump competition ...
The castle at Dieppe ....
The Needles IOW (seconds after this was taken we fell off the bench on which we were standing - a bowl of custard could have done so with more grace)
And all too soon it was time to head back home. Being able to do a trip like this was one of the main reasons for upsizing from Pipedream. In every way it was a success and I am completely pleased with Mr.T - she never skipped a beat and when conditions allowed, she was a dream to sail. Roll on next year ..............
