The liferaft was at the red alert stage (ready to deploy) given the severe spanking the good hull of tinkles was receiving, as were the fenders and lights lit, due to the close approach of an as yet unidentified joyrider flashing a camera in conditions where hanging on would have been a more appropriate course of action. The youth of today ....... no respect ........ they'll never understand /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

We actually had a fantastic sail back from Oostende but turning right down the wallet the next day beyond Walton, the wind came on the nose, genoa went on strike, we were with the tide, bouncy, engine on, hang on, fair ground ride coming up .............. whoopeeeeeeeeeeeeee /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Twas actually a spring used to lash the raft. 3 bits of new string already on board (reefing lines), new genoa sheets, main halyard and topping lift to follow soon. Is there a retirment home for old string or do they all sit ad-infinitum, unused, sad and lonely in the bottom of our damp and dingy cockpit lockers ???
