Mine uses about 25.4gph flat out at 40knts so I guess that's about 1.6mpg.
I've not had the boat long & haven't been that far yet so don't know the cruising figures.
However I've been perusing magazine boat tests and it looks like on most planing boats of around 35ft that 60% of max revs gives +/- 0.25 max fuel consumption. (6.5gph)
On my boat 60% max rpm is about 2350rpm. I don't know what speed I'll get at 2350rpm but I'm hoping it will be around 20knts.
This would be around 3 mpg while still not hanging around too much. When I'm next out I'll see what speed I get at 2350rpm.
Does this sound feasible ? Even if not exactly right its is amazing just how much economy improves if you back off the throttles.
