Moving yak yak to Spain

I am Local so know options. For the SC29 the options are Marina Bay Gib or Alcaidesa. Both a hop skip and Jump from the airport. The main issue with Gib is there is a shortage of 10m berths as they are putting in a 350ft floating hotel. However the nightlife, bars and restaurants are on your doorstep. It depends if you will use the boat as a base to stay on or go cruising? Can you let us know a bit more about how you intend to use her? My boat is in Marina Bay on an 8m berth.

Thanks Nautorius

Our daughter lives in Benhavis so want to use the boat as a base and at the same time cruise around on yak yak for holidays

queensway bay gib has already said there is a 18month waiting list Marina Bay has not yet responded

I'd go for Alcaidesa. Modern marina with good facilities. Easy to walk into Gib if you want to, but you won't have to deal with the hassle of queues if the Spanish border police are playing up, as they still are periodically.

Just another question when I move my boat to Spain will I have to register it as Spanish and pay anything ?

As long as you are not a Spanish resident you do not need to reregister or pay Tax. Alcaidesa is a great Marina, and even has a bar/café now. But La Linea is quite rough and poor at the moment due to the Spanish Govt playing silly gits with the border. For piece of mind I would have it in Gib, lots of people to check on her from here. If I was you I would get my name on Marina Bay list and if not got a berth try Alcaidesa. QQ is like fort knox to get in...they are very selective!
