Moving up (a bit)

Friend of mine changed to a Rinker 27 with a single diesel from a Four Winns 238
I took it from North Wales to Scotland for him.
She cruised ok at 22kts, fuel consumption was ok too.
He seems quite happy with Her.

As Landlockedpirate says the Searay 315 is one of the biggest but only available with a Diesel (I have one). That said the Bayliner 2855 isn't much smaller if you discount the extended swim platform. I seem to recall that the Sealine S28 was available with a single diesel too, although quite rare.

2003/4 should get you a Bayliner 285 instead of the older 2855. This is the most popular Bayliner and has survived two shake-ups across the range already. Lot of boat for your money.

What is your budget?

Agreed
The 285 is a LOT of boat for the money.
Spacious and stable. Little slippy slidy at low speeds, but what big planing hull isn't when on a single engine.

As an example, the 2004 one we have on brokerage is up at a smidge under £40K and offers so much extra space over the "posh" brands that we have listed for more money.

Serious value for money if the snob factor isn't too much of an issue.
