Mouse advice

Hi all

Im looking for some advice on a mouse for my onboard computer. At the moment I have the computer below with a fixed screen in the cockpit. My current mouse wont connect and control the computer down below from the cockpit. I assume this is due to not having line of site to the computer, so I have to go below and manually change anything i need, which is hardly ideal . So does anyone have experience of a mouse that will work without line of site? It would also be nice if it was hand held as surfaces to work on are in short supply at the helm.

Personally, I would go for a bluetooth mouse ( should have the range) with a tracker ball - no need to have a surface to work with.

I had a inilat issue and finally got a finger trackball mouse and ran a USB cable from my computer to the helm position where my secondary screen is mounted.
