I wanted to put my new chart plotter on some kind of swivelling cantilever arm so i can swing it out so it is visible from the cockpit and can be swung back in again for use at the chart table.
Anyone have any good solutions in use.

I have mine mounted on a RAM Mount see web page They have several different mounts including swing arm and a ball and socket arrangement which I use.

Very happy with mine, its very strong and secure quite expensive but I think it was worth it.

I posted pics of mine the other day but here that are again.

I have made a swiveling bracket mounted on the inside of the cabin / Cockpit bulkhead.
It is made from a small adjustable TV or speaker wall mount.

When underway the plotter is swiveled out into the cockpit and can be angled to the side that I feel like sitting on.
When in port the plotter is swiveled into the cabin and I can look at it / do passage planing etc. in the dry.

The only disadvantage is that with the plotter out in the cockpit the top washboard can not be fitted.
I have a partial cure for that in that I have a perspex top washboard that the plotter can be pushed up against if it is really necessary to close up the cabin.

I would suggest you consider 2 seprate mounts, I had a temporary mount for a plotter on a swing hinge thorough the companion way but found that when the going got rough and the rain was pouring into the cabin depite the spray hood I wanted the hatch boards in I could not use the plotter. This all happend when the Plotter could have helped in a farily difficult situation getting into Bray harbour for the first time in a F6-7.

Can you connect 2 Standard Horizon ones together? I know you can with Raymarine kit, as I have been on a yacht with inside/outside screens - very nice.

I have a SH CP500 inside, and wonder if a smaller one in the cockpit could be linked to it?
