Mountgay Rum and gravity

Apparently it's a fact, that if you mix people with mountgay rum, the effects of gravity acting on the body, places you in the bottom of your boat.

does anyone know (scientifically of course) why this happens.. and would it still happen (in theory) if the aforementioned boat was'nt there?

Dunno about Mountgay Rum but the rumour is that it is gonna be compulsory to be Gay next year.
