My specific requirement is for a car but I am sure there would be many uses for 'boaty' things!
The captains much loved Citroen Pluriel has a broken rear hatch hinge and these parts are no longer available.
A garage 'down south' is remanufacturing the part but only supply and fit.
There is becoming a dedicated band of 'Plurielists' who want to keep these cars on the road and think we should investigate making out of stock parts.
I have managed to successfully mould the clear lamp lenses but have no idea about making the hinge parts.
They are made from some high impact looking resin in 3 separate parts ( I will add photos) .
Could the parts be made using the silicone mould method I use for the lenses and what resin would be required.
Are there recommended firms who can make these in small production runs of around 100?
Your advice appreciated as always!!pluriel hinge.jpg

Looks like the type of thing that could be made to order on a 3D printer, using a continuous carbon fibre filament. There will probably be a maker community around your locale that could put you in touch with someone who could take it on, though 3D printers that can handle carbon fibre are not common and are expensive.

Have you exhausted the scrapyard solution?

Thanks Hissy Fit ! Scrap yard guys have a great bush telegraph so prices are soaring! also, of course, the used parts are already aged. I am bidding on a part right now but the owners are going to have to find a source or scrap their cars! Will check out the 3d guys!
