Mould removal

Fabric headlinings: if you mean the 'carpety' stuff - Very dilute bleach solution. Use a soft scrubbing brush or green spongy scrubber on the headlinings. Also your finger inside a textured rubber glove with a vigorous 'stubbing out' action (slow but satisfying!). Didn't have it come back ever (except in small spots) after this treatment, which the rubber glove technique took care of.

TEST ON A SMALL INCONSPICUOUS PATCH FIRST!

Never had to do upholstery. If it'll come off easily (unzips ro velcroes or whatever), you could try machine washing or take it to a drycleaners.

I posed a similar question at the start of the season. I'm still beating myself up for not checking my boat over winter!

All manner of alchemy was thoughtfully and kindly recommended. I tried almost everything. My upholstery looked like a dead spider graveyard. The only proprietary solution to come close to working was Starbrite Mildew Stain Remover. Available at Chandleries. It resolved the minor stains.

For the rest, I carefully checked a spot area first, the upholstery is Beneteau blue and white deck-chair stripes, and used neat Domestos with nail brush. It works fairly quickly. As soon as the spiders have gone, rinse in copious amounts of water then wash in machine. I may have caused long term weakness to the fabric but for now at least it now looks like new.

Good luck!

The Starbrite stuff if 7 quid a pop but I've found it brilliant.

BUT.........

On my first boat it bleached the colour out of the seats, so test it carefully. They were after market replacements.

If the fabric is colourfast, just spray it on - the mould gets gets worse then disappears. If it's bad it just reduces - spray again. I've tried cheaper alternatives that just don't work as well. Works on the shower at home too!
