For the first time (and not surprisingly given the lack of sailing this year) there is mould appearing in the carpet material which lines parts of the cabin sides.

Whilst I have a good aqueous solution for killing the mould, I wonder if a steam cleaner followed by a a really good suction cleaner will sanitise and clear the mouldy marks.

What steam cleaner would people recommend please ? It would be handy if I could justify its purchase for the house, and then borrow it for healthy exercise on the boat....

I find the small steam cleaner which my wife bought is good for use on the boat .
I think it would be called a steam mop.

Just be careful ( test it unobtrusively ) that it doesn’t deform the texture of the synthetic carpet nor indeed soften the glue
A £1 spray bottle of Astonish is pretty ahem good ahem at shifting mould , plan B

Patio magic did not kill black mildew mould on canvas canopy so I think it is not a mould killer - but it works well on green algae if applied and left to do its work.

If you want to justify the cost, you'll never have to buy cleaning products for windows or shower screens again. We've had a few for villa rentals and the best was an Italian brand called Polti. We tried a Karcher one, it didn't last long, and a cheap one from Lidl might as well have been classed as disposable. As always you get what you pay for.
