Motorsailing

Why oh why?

In a similar manner, why would anyone drive about in a convertable top sportscar with the top up on a perfect sunny day?

Re: so....

I've gone very quiet on the Grand Banks and was hoping it would stay so. I rather disgraced myself by falling off the top deck - I assume thats why they call them flying bridges and then some time later as we rolled across from Rothesay, I managed to cover most of the dinghy, davits, swimming platform, transom and fellow shipmates in 2nd hand food. Not done that for years so I think it must have been food poisoning and the 80/-
Oops!

Re: Why oh why?

partly that, and of course cos it's a fab to get the top down, drive 2 miles only to have to put the roof UP again.

I spect the same applies to late afternnonies on the solent, who are returning the few miles, and can't be arsed to get al the sails out only to puttem away 40 mins later.

A turn around the deck

haha! I hope he was very pleased at your providing a light acid treatment of the aforementioned deck gear free of charge.

Anyway, he should have had a staysail. Or perhaps a more powerful engine, allowing him to plane and give a steadier ride. I hope you advised him of the same.

what's the 80/- about ? is this the 80-20 rule? 80% of your lunch can cover 20% of the deck?

More info please or I shall grass you up on MBC. I might grass you up anyway. Ooer - I've set him off again...steady on claymore watch that keyboard un-oh....

Re: A turn around the deck

The 80/- my dear boy is a fine Scottish Ale. Not yer heavy, no' a lager - just a fine beer which seemingly fails to agree with the combination of a Rothesay fish supper, Mr Zavaroni's dairy ice cream and the aforementioned Grand Banks. I was trying to get them to make it go a bit quicker but each time I tried to speak it came out in lumps. They weren't too keen on my covering the carpet so I was banished in the pouring rain to the aft end to call for my old pals, Hughie and Ruth.
I thought you must be having one of your busy days as news of my maiden MB exploits had not been broadcast...perhaps I thought too soon.
Bugger.
