The latest from Redshank. You might want to turn your sound down, sorry!
May I suggest that you concentrate on the edited highlights?
That was the edited highlights! lmao
Perhaps you need to work on the storyline then. Maybe a tack or two, perhaps somebody could go below and make a cuppa, an MoB, somebody could drop a winch handle overboard followed by some jolly quips from the skipper .......anything!

Take II in an Easterly F5 would up the stakes a bit... Moves away a bit from the essence of tranquillity that the o/p was aiming to capture I think though!
We quite like the place. !t's true that Teignmouth isn't the prettiest of places but it has a certain something. Shaldon is nice. Overall it's much better than Torquay which is the worst destination on the planet; it's best avoided until you have died.Maybe as a new comer to the forum we should encourage him, or at least give constructive comments. Mine is - try to make it a little more interesting, Teignmouth is not on most folks places to go before they die, mind you they are leaving.

. Also showing a port that many will not visit, partly due to its reputation from the old pilot books. Yes the tide runs fast, yes its nasty in an Easterly with wind against tide, but it is also quite nice, quiet and a little different, with commercial docks, beach and town all close together. If you do come, bring your dinghy, the visitors pontoon is not attached to the shore and there isn't a water taxi service.
I agree.
The other tip I was given by a local is to always, whatever you think the tide might be doing, always go onto the pontoons heading upstream (I.e. With your stern facing the mouth of the river). Because of eddies when the tide is on the flood it's always worked for us.
Good advice, ebb is always much stronger than the flood.
I rather like Teignmouth, some excellent pubs just a few yards away from the pontoons, and on a sunny evening the sun sets right down the river, quite spectacular. But yes, you do need a dinghy to get ashore, but it's not a problem, maybe 30 yards to the beach.
