Dear All,

I am presently trying to locate the whereabouts of a pre war gentleman’s motor yacht called Maluti.

She is a GL Watson design, built in the late 1930's, steel hull, approx 80 feet long with twin screw gardiners.

She is of fairly distinctive design with an upper wheel house configuration.

Last seen in Salcombe approx 6 years ago.

If anyone has any info on her whereabouts and or ownership I would be most grateful.

Thank you and best regards.

Can't help you, but my Lloyds REgister says she was built by George Brown and Co in Greenock launched June 1938, ex. Uhuru, ex. Rinansey, with 2 Gardner engines of 1962 vintage. Registered Greenock, home port Newhaven. Mind you, that's Lloyds Register dated 1980!

I can confirm Maluti is in Italy!

We recently bought her and for now she lies at yachting club in La Spezia. Unfortunately, she is in a rather bad condition but we would like to restore her with all the respect she deserves.

If you have any questions or would like to receive pictures, please let us know.

On the other hand, if you could tell us something about her history, we would be very grateful. Ofcourse, we are also interested to know if any original plans/designs can be traced.

Best regards,
