I've always been suspicious of Philippe Starck after realising 20 years ago that his citrus squeezer was more form than function but love it or hate it, Motor Yacht A is anchored off Brighton marina this evening. Brighton-based forumites might wish to promenade on the breakwater to see what it's like in real life (spoilers: quite a lot like the pictures).

I'm expecting to see men with no necks and expensive-but-ill-fitting-suits with bulges under their jackets outside the weatherspoon tonight...

It's been at anchor outside Bembridge today, playing with all the toys. It's got a Wally (or summink very similar) stored in the garage which they briefly cruised into Bembridge harbour - very sleek & gorg vessel!

I'm doing some research on Motor Yacht A, I'm not a yachting specialist at all so I'm looking for some expert opinions on why people love/hate Motor Yacht A - what is good and bad about it etc? Be grateful for any comments - good or bad!!

I am not sure I qualify as a ''yachting specialist'', whatever that maybe, but as someone who - like yourself - enjoys looking a super yachts, I have to say I thing M/Y A is a really cool boat. Yes it looks like a nuclear submarine, or something Dr. No or Blofeld would have owned in a James Bond movie but that said - having sailed closely all around it off Amalfi in August 2015, I really enjoyed its unique clean and uncluttered profile. For me it has a genuine 'wow factor', and indeed not as demonstably blingy as many other billionaire's boats.

It's a real stunner - now ! saw it when it 1st came out off Cannes .
I think it was waaaaay ahead of it time when it burst on the scene ,however it now cuts it in the Med .
Lots of boats circling it like Indians round a circle of a wagon train in the wild west .
It s neat n tidy everything packs away out of sight and mind ,unlike Larry Elisons recent effort .
