Motor Sailer Kit/Plan/Hull Wanted

I can't think of anybody who sells just hulls now. Killed off by the RCD/CE regulations and simple economics. 20 years ago one could save 20-30% building yourself as labour was such a high proportion of building costs. This is now not the case and you would have difficulty in buying the materials at retail price for what it costs to buy a new mass produced boat.

Means that minority interest boats don't get built, but the secondhand market is stuffed with older boats that can be renovated and upgraded to meet the DIY desire and individual needs.

If you are happy to start with a bare hull I assume that you are intending undertaking a fair amount of work. I which case why not build the hull yourself as well and not limit the design to the hull shape.

Not knowing your budget or skills level I would suggest a set of plans and probably construct the boat from plywood possibly sheathing the hull in fibreglass.

The are loads of websites out there but I like www.bateau.com and particularly www.selway-fisher.com

If you were particularly enthusiastic you could even commission Paul Fisher to design you a boat. I am sure it wouldn't add too much, proportionately, to the overall cost but may add hugely to the satifaction gained.
