mother in law HELP! Scarborough / Yorkshire

I have to arrange a break for MIL for a week beginning 18th August. I have to take Mother in Law, SWAMBO , teenage daughter and myself (I NEED to keep sanity - anything boaty going on up there?). Right - so does anyone have inside info on a place to stay for a week up in that region (SWAMBO wants to see Yorvik and Minster) that might satisfy everyone (ie places to water the Grandmother, something to stop teenager whingeing, and even a pond to drop a Mirror clone dinghy in the water?). Oh I forgot to mention the needs of SWAMBO.... er if we're happy she is happy also.... I hope...
