rear brake cylinders seized
rusty brake pipe o/s
n/s outer cv boot
n/s radius arm
o/s disc warped
small hole on sill (look like jack might have done it?)
o/s wiper (brand new!!)

Not bad for a car thats been standing for 3 years!!

You mean you drove it like that !!! still at least you now know the butchers bill, bet the welding ends up with a new inner and outer sill and the the wheel arch plus floor pan .

Cheers

I understand that it is legal to drive a car on the road with no MOT provided you are on your way to an MOT test, so all that's needed is to book it in to a test in Cornwall. It'll probably pass down there too.

Nick2: I won't start!!!! :) (don't have time for all the recalls!!)

Thats a good idea, book it in in cornwall, if it doesn't pass book it in at home again!!
Anyone know of any garages open on the bank holiday in Cornwall?

Had a quote to fix it for me (would usually do it myself but busy) £200

£ 200 sounds a relative bargain, rear wheel cylinders are a pain on Minis and getting the air out afterwards tries the patience of a saint and with a new brake pipe.
Rest of it is relatively trivial in terms of parts price but labour would soon mount up 'cos they're so fiddly to work on..

last time I had a mini fail it was because when he stepped on the brake hard the rear pipes actually split!
Boy was I glad it happened on the rolling road.....only time I have ever been glad to fail an MOT

VW Golf\'s are great!!

Took SWMBO's 15 year old Golf GTI for MOT on Saturday, Passed, all that was needed was a 10p spring for the bonnet catch.

Probably about time I changed the oil, Havn't done it for a year

Its got to be the nearest MOT station and must be prebooked.Get a exchange radius arm as often the hole is worn and will not take the new bearing.
