I'm trying to get some replacement mosquito nets for the opening portholes on my boat as a few seem to have gone walkabout over the winter. Sorry I don't have a pic but they're stainless steel and surrounded by a rubber seal and you just push them into the porthole opening. They're about 350mm wide and 150mm deep.
I've only ever seen them on Ferrettis (which maybe has something to do with mine having gone walkabout) but it could be that they're fitted to other boats to. Anybody got any idea where I could source them?

If guests are loosing them try these from any motorist shop @ £2.50 each as I dont use the proper nets as I find it easier to use these http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2-pc...ptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories
just push them up against the port hole and then rest against the port hole fastener at the base, so quick and easy to use.

Round tape to both sides of centre hole to plug the gap.

In use year round (stop spiders and dust), last about 3 seasons.

Years ago, I bought mine directly from the producer Olcese Ricci.
Also the portholes used by Ferretti might well come from them.
They are OEM suppliers for some yards, anyway. I'm just not 100% sure if Ferretti is one of them.
Worth asking, anyhow: if they make your portholes, you won't find any better mosquito nets anywhere else.
And prices were reasonable, IIRC.

You might be able to get monogrammed nets which would be very swish indeed :-)

I might well get them monogrammed. I've just seen the price Ferretti have quoted and they want €165 for each net:eek: At that price its no wonder people nick them so I definitely want my monogram on every one

In France they sell the mossi net on a roll strong enough to be used in open windows. it comes in large roles, costs about 20 euros and can be cut to shape with a pair of scissors. It is called Moustiquaire and is sold in the the major diy places. Perhaps you can get same where you are.

Deleted User, if you are desperate, and have inwardly projecting rims on your port holes, you might copy my partner's discovery that the OD of the rims was an interference fit for the tops of some plastic flower pots. She cut 3 tops off and sewed mosquito net on using holes made with a hot needle. The 3 portholes covers are still in use some 25 years later.
Alternatively you could start eating Marmite and not be be bothered by mosquitos, like me.
