Below are pics of the Morse unit on a Jeanneau SO 34.2 (1999) and try as I might, I cannot identify the model or name of the unit to allow me to source a spare part (hopefully). If anyone can identify the model / name I'd be grateful.

As to the broken bit, it is the small metal bracket that the middle cable (didn't look to see if it is the throttle or gear change) just to the left of the red cable sheath.

If anyone knows of a supplier where I might obtain this (and what it's called) it would be helpfull as I've not been able to contact SeaStar Solutions at the moment.

Thanks

You only need to make up a saddle clamp with an indent to grip the cable .... although that particular unit seems to be badly designed and fabricated. Have a look at a proper Morse brand unit as a comparison.

If it is not a Morse unit, who makes it? It is fitted on a Goiot pedestal.

The Teleflex ch1200p appears to be a side mount unit and not a pedestal unit.

I replaced my Morse unit because the friction was faulty. The old one still has the clip on it, assuming you mean the wiggly shaped pressed steel bit. [ sorry to be so technical].
If you PM me your address, I'll drop it in the post. I doubt you will be able to buy small components, just the complete unit.

The internal mechanism is the one, thanks. Now just to find a Scottish / UK supplier or fabricate one myself as £125 to replace a broken clip is a tad steep (thanks for the links)!!!

My offer of a free spare part is still open.

Try a vp dealer I believe it's in the volvo system both as mechanism and some spare parts try 2000 series engine parts book

It is a TX unit which is badged as many products and sold as a mechanism and fitted in several bespoke housings

The same bracket broke on mine a good few years ago and got bodged with a bit of wire. I ashamed to say that the wire is still there today..

Should the OP not wish to take you up on your very generous offer DanTribe, then I should be pleased to.

Apologies, I scanned the posts quickly here in work before the boss arrived so didn't fully read it. I'll PM my address as I'd like to accept your generous offer. (Where is the embarrased smillie?!?)

Same part broke on mine last year, had it welded up. The big white alloy housing is Goiot, the mechanism inside is a fairly standard Morse single-lever control: my local marine engineer (Cellar Marine in Cornwall) says he keeps them in stock, but you have to buy the whole mechanism not just the spare clip.
EDITED - You can get just the spare clip.... I've ordered one. It is the same as the volvo part number quoted.

With 3 reported breakages so far just in this thread, it's beginning to look like a design fault.
Any others?
I've never heard of this problem before.

Of course it's a design fault. It's bit of bent pressed steel that predictably fails at the overstressed sharp bends.
When mine broke the gears and throttle were still just usable, though with lots of play - finding neutral became a bit hit and miss and I couldn't get full throttle.
