Im just wishing to query this not actually do the work myself
In the past few weeks we had gone from no reverse to having reverse.
Reverse has been 'clunky' its not been the easiest to engage.
Forwards on both engines has been ok, although 1 engine appears to not pull full revs on 'full throttle'
Now it appears 1 of the engines its tricky to tell if its in neutral at all.
On my own logic, im thinking this all seems to be related to the adjustment of these cables? To ensure gear selection is correct and full revs at full throttle, a bit like a calibration setting? The drives have been fully re built and have only had a handful of hours on them
Could These symptoms also point at the need to replace the throttle cables? As im assuming that is a major job.
My reasoning for asking, our engineer seems to think they may need replaced. However he was also up for removing the turbos for pressure testing when the fault i queried last time was fixed by swapping a fuel filter.
We have had forward, reverse and neutral on both engines in previous weeks, just a little confused as to how they can alter themselves so quickly.
If the work is easy enough for a beginner whos ok with tools feel free to give some ideas and i'll see if its something i can tackle
