Hi, I am hoping someone out there could give me some info on a Morgan Giles design, any owners of the 28 footer or West Channel Class please get in touch.

Cant help you in your quest, however when I saw "Morgan Giles",just had to respond,as I was born in Teignmouth,Devon and lived very close to Morgan Giles boatyard. I well remember the Monoco cruisers as they slid down the slipway ,on completion, into the river Teign. I must have been around seven or eight . Now I find myself ,50 years later looking for a cruiser. Wont be a Monoco though, Im looking for a Colvic Sunquest 29. Incidently, the boatyard is now a block of very nice flats, overlooking the river. Best of luck.

Hi,

I sailed a 28 very regularly (probably did 3 or 4 thousand miles in her) for several years back in the late 80's, called Destiny...

What sort of things are you looking to know?

As a general observation, she was a super boat.... sailed very nicely, and felt pretty safe... a bit wet when the swell got up though!

We did the 'round the cans' race series in Plymouth sound in her and regularly got good results, and also a bit of longer distance stuff, racing to/from places like Dartmouth against the navy college boys...

Hi, well I am actually trying to track an owner of one as I am trying to establish how many are remaining. Do you know if they built any plastic ones or were they all wooden?
