just installed a boost gauge

getting out of the hole / increasing speed shows a temporary increase in turbo boost

at around 3000 revs the boost decreases / settles once the speed is stable

going into the 3500's the boost stays significantly higher

what is a 'sensible' boost, for engine health, to plane at for any length of time, 80% of max ?

What readings did you get

The figures for a 42/43 engine are at 1500rmp - 16.6psi, 2500rpm - 21.0 and at 3800rpm - 25.3psi.

As it's the same turbo I would imagine for a 44 they are the same

turbo boost (maximum load):

Maybe as a guide, using Farsco’s tyre monitoring adaptation I get 28psi on both turbos wide open throttle. The turbos were new last year on my KAD43’s

Yes it is I’ve just done the conversion and referenced your charts it’s 1.9 bar
There are conversion charts based on temperature to bring the readings back to norm but even so I’m ahead for the moment which I assume is a good thing???

That chart always takes me a while to figure. Why they use an example to correct to 25degs and not 20degs as per the spec beats me. I guess the outside temp for me was about 20 degs which I assume is the intake air temp (IAT) but not sure.

Your boost kit shows temperature of the sensor too. Mine was about 45c.

It’s sat right on top of the engine block so air intake temp likely to be somewhere between that and ambient air temp I would guess.
